Winterset Man Had Been In Failing Health for Some Time
Charles Edward Howard, for many years a resident of Winterset, died at his home here Sunday after several years of failing health. For the past six months he had been bedfast. He was 53 years old. (d. Mar. 15, 1936)
Mr. Howard was the son of George and Sarah Howard and was born near Peru on June 24, 1883.
He was married in 1908 to Leatha Conley. They were the parents of seven children, five of whom are now living. They are: Raymond, Clarence and George Howard of Winterset, Mrs. Leola Hall of Ft. Brigg, California and Mrs. Josephine Richards of Point Chicago, California.
He also leaves four brothers and four sisters: Mrs. Roy Wright and Alfred Howard of Indianola, Mrs. Jim Purscell and Hazel and John Howard of Winterset; Mrs. Oscar Welsnones of Des Moines and Ernest and Lawrence Howard of California.
