ST. CHARLES BURIAL FOR MRS. CLANTON, 82

Funeral services for Mrs. James D. Clanton, pioneer Madison county resident, were held Sunday, Oct. 19, from the St. Charles Christian church.

Mrs. Clanton died Oct. 15 at the age of 82.

The daughter of Gilbert H. and Artie M. McCrea, she was born near St. Charles on Feb. 15, 1876. She was married to James Clanton on Aug. 23, 1894.

Her entire life was spent in and near St. Charles, with the exception of seven years when she lived in Long Beach, Calif. She was a member of the St. Charles Christian church, and of the Eastern Star in St. Charles.

Surviving are one son, Loy, of Long Beach, Calif., one sister, Mrs. Frances Shutt of near Winterset.

Officiating at the funeral was the Rev. Love. Burial was in the St. Charles cemetery.
