FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN ILLINOIS

David H. Charles, formerly of Winterset, died Saturday, Jan. 23, at the home of a daughter in Danville, Ill., it was reported here this week.

Mr. Charles was 87 years of age. He was a native of Salt Lick, Ky., where he was born June 10, 1870, a son of Robert and Rebecca Grason Charles. He moved from Kentucky to Danville in 1915, and came to Winterset in 1927 to make his home with a daughter, Mrs. Ray Patton, for several years. While living in Winterset, he was a member of the Foursquare church here.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Fannie Jane Cook, whom he had married in 1892.

He leaves four daughters, Mrs. L. P. Oliver and Mrs. George Clements of Danville, Mrs. Parker Olson of Maywood, Ill., and Mrs. Patton of Winterset; a son, Robert Charles of Milwaukee, Wisc.; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Goldie of Newcastle, Ind. and Mrs. Minty Cassidy of Salt Lick; five grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Jan. 28 at Danville, and burial made in the cemetery there.
