Funeral Services Thursday For Long-Time Resident of Grand River
Walter L. Cochran, a prominent resident of the Macksburg community, died this Tuesday, Jan. 21, at a Winterset nursing home. He was 83 years of age.
Mr. Cochran was a life-long resident of Madison county. He was born near Lorimor, June 10, 1874, a son of Wesley and Elizabeth Cochran. His active life was spent in farming.
He was married Nov. 29, 1899, to Bertha M. Cook, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Cook near Macksburg. Her death occurred two months ago.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Orrie Eyerly and Mrs. Wright Kingery of near Winterset; two brothers, Lee Cochran and Fred Cochran of Lorimor; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Tucker; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Macksburg Methodist church. Burial will be made in Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
