F. E. BURT DIED SUNDAY AT TRURO

Former Mayor There; Was In Business at Truro for 36 Years

F. E. Burt, a Truro business man for 36 years and a former town official there, died Sunday, June 1, at St. Charles. He was 84 years of age.

Mr. Burt was a native of Clark county, near Osceola, where he was born March 18, 1874, a son of Ebenezer and Rachel Ann Burt. His early life was spent in farming, but in 1920 he entered the real estate and insurance business at Truro, continuing in that field for 36 years. He was a former mayor, and a former marshall of Truro, and served on the school board. He was a member of the Truro Christian church.

He was married Aug. 30, 1896, at Truro, to Florence Bradshaw.

Surviving are two sons, Fred O. Burt of Lorimor and John W. Burt of Truro; three grandchildren, Evelyn Whitmore of Lorimor, Dean Burt of Ames and Donald Burt of Cedar Falls.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Kale Funeral home at Truro, conducted by the Rev. Clarence Moore. Burial was made in the Hartman cemetery there.
