ARTHUR ALCOX OF ST. CHARLES DIES

Arthur Alcox, a life-time resident of Madison county, died Saturday, Nov. 1, at his home near St. Charles.

Mr. Alcox is survived by his wife; a brother, Warren Alcox of Missouri; and a sister, Mrs. Venice Archer of Minnesota.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the St. Charles Methodist church conducted by the Rev. A. R. Weed of Hebron. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.

A. C. ALCOX SERVICES HELD AT ST. CHARLES

Funeral services were held Nov. 4 from the St. Charles Methodist church for Art C. Alcox of St. Charles, whose death occurred at his home there Saturday, Nov. 1, after a brief illness.

Mr. Alcox was 77 years of age. He was born in Madison county April 21, 1881, a son of W. S. and Melvina Sayre Alcox. His entire life was spent in Madison county with the exception of three years in Kansas.

He was married on April 3, 1929, to Beulah E. Ray, who survives him. He also leaves a sister, Venice Archer of Akeley, Minn.; and a brother, Warren Alcox of Lathrop, Mo.

The Rev. A. R. Weed of Orient conducted the funeral services. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.

Coordinator's note: Arthur appears as a one year old in the 1880 Federal Census so his year of birth is 1879 rather than the 1881 published herein and on his gravestone.
