HARRY D. KENT DIED SATURDAY

Retired Winterset Carpenter and Builder Was 88 Years of Age

Harry D. Kent, retired carpenter and builder, and a resident of Madison county for 80 years, died here Saturday, May 10. He was 88 years of age.

Mr. Kent was born June 6, 1869, at Charlestown, Mass., a son of Fred H. and Sophronia Smith Kent. He was married in Winterset to Mary O. Roderick on June 6, 1894. They were parents of three sons and a daughter, the latter dying in infancy.

He was a charter member of Crown Rebekah lodge No. 360, and a life member of Madison lodge No. 136 I.O.O.F. He belonged to the latter organization 67 years and five months. He was a member of the Winterset Methodist church for 70 years.

Surviving are his three sons, Fred H. Kent of Sturgus, S. Dak., and William and Harold W. Kent of Winterset; eight grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
