FRED HARDY DIES AT MINNEAPOLIS

Funeral Services Held Here Sunday for Former Resident

C. Fred Hardy, formerly a well known Winterset merchant, died last Thursday, Nov. 13, at Minneapolis, Minn., where he had made his home for many years. He was 67 years of age and suffered a severe heart attack a few hours prior to his death.

Mr. Hardy was a native of Winterset, where he was born Feb. 22, 1891, a son of Bert and Ella Mills Hardy. He graduated from Winterset high school, and entered the shoe business in this community. for many years he operated the shoe store on the north side of the square in partnership with Charles W. Aikins.

As a young man he was married to Minnie Selby of Winterset and they were the parents of two daughters; the wife and one daughter preceded him in death.

In 1938 he was married to Estelle M. Ramsey of Des Moines, who survives him.

He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Oren Spaulding, and five grandchildren of Farnhamville and a sister, Mrs. M. J. Johnson of Minneapolis. A sister, Mrs. Mary Criswell also preceded him in death.

Scottish Rite services for Mr. Hardy were held in Minneaplis on Friday and brief services were held at the Richards Funeral home in Winterset, Sunday afternoon with the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz in charge; burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
