WINTERSET PIONEER DIES AT 92 YEARS

Mrs. Buell Garmon Came to Madison County from Kentucky in 1850 (or 1860)

One of the pioneer residents of Winterset, Mrs. Buell Garmon died at Tingley late last week at the age of 92 years.

Mrs. Garmon was the former Ellen Frances Eskew, daughter of John and Sarah (Coffey) Eskew, and was born in Adair county, Kentucky on Feb. 19, 1850. When she was 10 years old she came with her parents to Winterset.

Here she united with the United Brethren church when she was 13 years old, and remained an active worker in that faith throughout her entire life.

She was married on Jan. 25, 1903 to D. B. Garmon (David Buell Garmon) For the past 21 years they had made their home at Tingley.

She is survived by her husband; a step-daughter; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held here Monday at Blair Chapel, in charge of the Rev. A. R. Weed of Tingley.
