Long-Time Resident of Early Chapel Neighborhood Succumbs
Mrs. Emil Johnson, a life-long resident of Madison county, died at her home in Winterset, last Saturday (d. March 7, 1942). She was 60 years of age. Mrs. Johnson was the former Anna Jane Johnson, daughter of John and Sarah Anderson and was born on a farm near Early Chapel on Jan. 18, 1882. She was married to Emil Johnson on Jan. 18, 1909. They were the parents of two daughters, Mrs. Albert Ross of Phillipsburg, Mo., and Mrs. Charles Simmons of Steward, Ill., both of whom survive their mother.
She had been affiliated with the Early Chapel for many years.
In addition to her two daughters, she is survived by her husband; a sister, Mrs. Ralph Clague of Earlham; and a brother, Louis F. Anderson of Des Moines; in addition to six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Early Chapel church.
