JAMES I. CALLISON DIED LAST FRIDAY

Lincoln Township Farmer Was 87 Years of Age

James I. Callison, a long-time resident of Lincoln township and a leading farmer of that community, died last Friday, Jan. 3, at his home south of Winterset. He was 87 years of age.

Mr. Callison was a native of Fulton county, Illinois, where he was born Sept. 11, 1870, a son of Woods and Deleah Babbitt Callison. He came to this county in 1894, and since that time his home had been on the same farm in Lincoln township.

He was married Jan. 26, 1898, to Eliza Fisher, who preceded him in death in 1948.

Surviving are two brothers, Wilford Callison of Howard, Kan., and W. C. Callison of Winterset. He also leaves a niece, Mrs. Grant Freihage of Afton and Eugene Bevins of Des Moines, both of whom were reared in his home, and a number of other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Arthur Weed of Lamoni. Burial was made in the Clark cemetery.
