FORMER ST. CHARLES RESIDENT DIES

Mrs. W. G. Sloan, a native of the St. Charles community, died Aug. 21 at Lowry City, Mo., according to word received here recently.

She was the former Jennie Johnston, daughter of Samuel T. and Matisha Phipps Johnston. She was born near St. Charles on Feb. 20, 1881.

In 1914 she was married to William G. Sloan. They had lived at Lowry City for many years.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Carrie Lacey and Mrs. Mary Atchison; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Earl Knott of St. Charles and Mrs. H. E. Bumbarger of New Virginia; and two brothers, Truman and Raymon Johnston of St. Charles.

Funeral services were held Aug. 24 from the Lowry City Methodist church, with burial in the cemetery in that city.
