OBITUARY

Roy Slavens, 41, son of Tide and Ella Marie Slavens, passed away with a stroke at the Knoxville Veterans hospital Sunday evening, September 17, 1961.

Mr. Slavens was born in Earlham July 12, 1920. He lived in Earlham 22 years. He was a graduate of Earlham high school. He worked at the local United store until he entered the navy in World War II.

Survivors are two brothers, Guy and Donald Slavens, and one sister, Ila Smith of Des Moines.
