CARRIE ETCHISON OF ST. CHARLES DIES

Death Occurred on Birthday for 76-Year-Old Woman

Mrs. Carrie M. Etchison of St. Charles died last Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. Her death occurred on her seventy-sixth birthday.

Mrs. Etchison had been a resident of St. Charles since 1952. She was a native of Missouri, where she was born at Miller on Jan. 25, 1885. She was the former Carrie Maude Neece, daughter of Hotwood and Sarah Bell Neece.

As a young woman she was married to Howard Hill. They were parents of a daughter, who died at the age of one and one-half years. The husband and father, died also, a few months later.

In February, 1925, she was married at Los Animas, Colo., to E. L. Etchison. They made their home in Colorado for several years, then moved to Missouri, and to St. Charles in 1952. Mr. Etchison died in 1959.

She was a member of the Baptist church at Mount Moriah, Mo.

Surviving are two step-daughters, Lena Tompkins of Red Bluff, Calif., and Erman Hamm of Orange, Calif.

Funeral services were held from the St. Charles Methodist church Friday, in charge of the Rev. W. C. Trembly and the Rev. James Farrell. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
