MRS. CLARA KNOUF DIED WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Clara B. Knouf of Des Moines died this Wednesday, Nov. 4 at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 76 years of age.

Mrs. Knouf was born at Greenfield May 20, 1885, and much of her life had been spent in that community. The final 20 years of her life were spent in Des Moines and Lake City. She had retired from a position with the Iowa state Income Tax division, in Des Moines.

At Greenfield she was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star and of the Royal Neighbors.

She was married at Greenfield July 28, 1904, to Scott E. Knouf, Sr. His death occurred in 1936.

Surviving are one son, Scott Knouf, Jr., of Winterset; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Ridout of Des Moines; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde and Adam Jones; and three sisters, Mrs. Letta Jacobs, Mrs. Irvin Dwigins, and Mrs. Mary Switzer.

The funeral services have been set tentatively for this Friday at 2 p.m. from the Collins funeral home in Winterset. Burial will be made in the Greenfield cemetery.
