JAMES LATHRUM OF TRURO DIES

Death Occurred Wednesday at Age of 81 Years

James H. Lathrum of Truro died at his home in that community last Wednesday, Nov. 15. He was 81 years of age.

Mr. Lathrum was a native of Clarke county, where he was born March 21, 1880, but had lived in Madison county most of his life. He was a son of Clark and Flora Hinkle Lathrum.

During his active life he was engaged in farming and did road and street work.

He was married July 26, 1905, to Elsie M. Miles, at St. Charles. She survives him.

In addition to his wife, he leaves six children, Lester Lathrum of Burbank, Calif., Lloyd Lathrum of Truro, Mrs. Hazel Huston of Jackson, Mo., Ivan Lathrum of Des Moines, Mrs. Zola Estes of Osceola, and Doyle Lathrum of Ojai, Calif. He also leaves 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Edgar Lathrum of Des Moines and Lesley Lathrum of Ankeny; and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Childs of Newton and Mrs. Ada Ruth of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Kale Funeral home in Truro, in charge of the Rev. Robert Webber. Burial was made in the Young cemetery.
