MRS. MAGGIE STANFIELD DIED HERE THURSDAY

Native of Ireland; Widow of William Stanfield of Winterset

Mrs. Maggie Stanfield, formerly of Winterset, died at a nursing home here Thursday, Aug. 18. She was 76 years of age.

Mrs. Stanfield was the former Maggie Jane McCauley. She was a native of Ireland, where she was born Sept. 30, 1886, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex McCauley. Much of her life was spent in Madison county.

She was married on Aug. 14, 1900, to William Stanfield of Winterset. They were parents of two children, one dying in infancy. Her husband and the other child, Carl Dale, both preceded her in death also.

She is survived by a foster daughter, Mrs. Goldie Foreman of Des Moines; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Graham and Rebecca Francis of Winterset and Mrs. Elizabeth Krebiehl, of Chicago; three brothers, Dick and Ted McCauley of Winterset and Tom McCauley of St. Marys; six grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from Tonini's Funeral home in Des Moines Saturday, with burial in the Winterset cemetery.
