ED BENSON DIES IN SOUTH DAKOTA

Ed Benson, a resident of Winterset for most of his life, died Monday, Sept. 13, at Yankton, S. Dak. According to word received here Monday. He was 78 years of age.

Mr. Benson had lived at Mobridge, S. Dak., since 1916. He was a member of a pioneer Madison county family, a son of Samuel and Angeline Benson, and was born at Winterset, July 12, 1876. He spent his active life in this community following the trades of plasterer and masonry.

He was married here in 1906 to Mrs. Marguerite Russell. Her death occurred at Mobridge last January.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Hattie Haworth and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Myrtle Jackson of Mobridge.

Funeral services were held Sept 15 from the First Baptist church at Mobridge, and burial was made in the cemetery there.
