TOM AITCHISON DIES IN SOUTH DAKOTA

Tom Aitchison, former Madison county resident, died in the hospital at Iroquois, South Dakota, Tuesday afternoon at the age of 85 years. Mr. Aitchison suffered a severe stroke at his home last Friday, and he was taken to the hospital, where death came September 14th.

He was a native of Scotland, a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Aitchison. The family moved to Jackson township, when he was a small boy, and he spent his early years in the Pitzer community. There he was married to Zelza Sawhill, and they resided in Jackson township until they moved to South Dakota, about 40 years ago.

Mrs. Aitchison died several years ago, and he is survived by their two children James and Florence Aitchison who resided with him.

Funeral and burial services will be held in Iroquois, Friday afternoon, September 17th. A nephew and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sawhill of Jackson township are driving to South Dakota, to attend the services.
