Winterset, IowaJIM ALLEN DIES SUDDENLY ON TRIP
Jim Allen, 68, a resident of Winterset the past 30 years, died suddenly Monday night at Ogallala, Nebr.
Mr. Allen was enroute to Denver with his two sisters, and they had stopped at a motel in Ogallala to spend the night. His death was attributed to a heart condition.
Mr. Allen was born in Council Bluffs, Ia, and worked for a number of years for the railroad at Missouri Valley, Ia. He came to Winterset about 30 years ago. He was a former manager of the Iowa State Liquor store here.
He is survived by the two sisters, Flora Clark of Winterset, and Annie Ferree of Henderson, Colo.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete as the Madisonian went to press.
