Death at Iowa City Sunday Follows Extended Illness
Allen White, a resident of Winterset the last 35 years, died Sunday, July 26, at University hospital in Iowa City, after an extended illness. He was 73 years of age.
Mr. White was a native of Taylor county, where he was born Feb. 20, 1886, a son of Albin and Martha White. At the age of 18 years he moved to Dallas county, and farmed there and in Madison county, until he moved into Winterset 35 years ago.
He was married Aug. 18, 1909 to Hulda Bruner, who survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Laurena Smith of Carlisle; a son, Emmett White of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Hulse of Bedford and Mrs. Effie Burley of Clarinda; two brothers, John and Frank White of Villisca; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday from the Anderson home for funerals, conducted by the Rev. Fred Boyce, pastor of the St. Paul Lutheran church of Winterset. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
