C. L. TIDRICK DIED THURSDAY

Retired Mail Carrier Here Takes Own Life at His Home

Clarence L. Tidrick of Winterset, died at his home here last Thursday evening of a self inflicted bullet wound.

Mr. Tidrick had been in ill health for several years, and had just returned home from Veteran's hospital at Des Moines. He was alone in the house at the time. He left a note, expressing regret, but giving no definite reason for his action.

Mr. Tidrick was a life-long resident here, and a member of a pioneer Winterset family. He was born here June 4, 1897, a son of Lee B. and Alice Tidrick, and was 61 years of age at his death. He was married here on Oct. 17, 1921, to Lorena Wilson, who survives him.

As a young man he serviced in the military service during World War I. His active life was spent as a city letter carrier at the Winterset post office. He had been retired in recent years.

He was a member of the Methodist church, the Knights of Pythias, and the American Legion.

In addition to his wife, he leaves four children, Mrs. Dorla Ray of Burbank, Calif., Dean Tidrick of Waterloo, and Mrs. Audrey Swaboda and Lee Tidrick, both of Des Moines. He also leaves eight grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Grace Alexander; and a brother, Arthur Tidrick, both of California.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Anderson home for funerals, conducted by the Rev. John C. Porath, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Committal services were in charge of the Knights of Pythias. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
