Joe Tidrick

Joe, the youngest son of Dr. L. M. and Martha Tidrick, was born in Winterset on October 11, 1872, and passed away in Winterset on July 10, 1930, aged fifty-seven years.

As a boy he was so bright and genial that everyone loved him; as a lad he was extremely active and venturesome, and he passed through a series of accidents which it seemed no ordinary lad could have survived.

In school he was brilliant, resourceful, and universally loved; he graduated from the Winterset high school in the class of 1890, and afterwards attended the law department of the University of Pennsylvania, and was admitted to the bar in 1897.

Joe soon became known as a brilliant young attorney. For a time he was in partnership with Jno. A. Guiher; he built up a considerable clientele of his own, but for many years he remained in the Guiher office, taking care of his own business, and assisting in that of his employers. In recent years he had his office with S. A. Hays, where he remained until within the last few months.

For many years he was a member of the lodge of Knights of Pythias in Winterset, and had held some of the chairs.

Joe never married; for many years he made his home with his mother, who died in 1913. He is survived by his brothers, Lee, of Winterset; C. C., of Chamberlain, South Dakota, and Hoyt, of Ottawa, Kansas, and a sister, Mrs. Grace Geiger, of Ottawa, Kansas, besides a number of other relatives and many friends.
