Death of J. C. Edwards

Word was received here Monday of the death of J. C. Edwards, a former resident of this county, and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Edwards, at his home in Grand Island, Nebraska, on Monday, March 17th. Mr. Edwards had been in poor health, and he took his life. He was 48 years of age at the time of his death.

Mr. Edwards lived in this county until after his marriage to Miss Bertha Cole, 24 years ago. Following their marriage they moved to North Dakota, and later to Grand Island, where they have since resided. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife and two children, Robert, aged 20 years, and Miss Ruth, aged 14. He also leaves three brothers and a sister: Mrs. J. H. Kitchell and Gaylord Edwards, of Winterset, and Earl and Marion Edwards, of Brookfield, Missouri.

Rev. John T. Hall, pastor of the Baptist church, will conduct the funeral services, to be held at Tidrick’s funeral home Thursday afternoon, March 20th, at 2:30 o’clock, and burial will be in the Winterset cemetery.

E. K. Cole, who is a brother of Mrs. Edwards, went to Grand Island, Monday, and accompanied her and the children to Winterset. They arrived here Wednesday morning.
