CHRISTOPHER C. WILSON

Christopher C. Wilson, son of Thomas and Ruth Wilson, was born March 30, 1843 near Indianapolis, Indiana, and with his parents moved to Iowa in the fall of 1857 and settled in Penn Township, Madison County. He died October 24, 1917 at the home of J. R. McBride near Earlham, Iowa.

He was married to Rebecca A. Haines, January 1, 1865, who preceded him on February 11, 1902. To this union two children were born Ner H. Wilson, of Pueblo, Colorado and Mrs. Jennie Copeland, of Prowers, Colorado. He also leaves two brothers and two sisters, Barnett Wilson, of Earlham, Iowa, John Wilson of Prowers, Colorado, Mrs. Martha Wood of Lamar, Colorado, and Mrs. Jennie Francis, of Des Moines. He lived in Iowa several years after marriage, then moved west, near Prowers, Colorado which place he called home.

Since the death of his wife he has spent the summer in Iowa near Earlham and Dexter, returning to Colorado to spend the winter with his children.

He was a birthright member of the Friends church.

Mr. Wilson's funeral was held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Friends Church, conducted by the pastor, and the remains were then retained at the Walters' undertaking parlors until Monday when the son, Ner Wilson, accompanied the body to Lamar, Colo, for interment.

The funeral of "Gi--" Wilson, who died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Joe McBride, north of town on Wednesday, was held at the Friend's church on Saturday afternoon. The body was then taken to the funeral parlor to await the coming of relatives from Colorado, who took the body to that state for burial.
