EARL MURPHY Died Suddenly Monday

Earl Murphy, former St. Charles garage operator, died suddenly Monday, June 16, 1947, at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines. He had entered the hospital for a physical check-up when stricken with a fatal heart attack. He was 63 years of age.

Mr. Murphy lived most of his life in Madison county, coming here at an early age. He had lived in Des Moines since 1931.

He was married here in 1916 to Bessie Preston of Winterset. They were the parents of three sons, all of whom survive. The wife and mother died in 1926.

Surviving are the three sons, Lloyd Murphy of Winterset, Floyd Murphy of Colfax, Calif., and Glen Murphy, address unknown. He also leaves three brothers, Francis Murphy of Winterset, Hollis Murphy of Phoenix, Ariz., and William Murphy of York, Neb.; a sister, Flora Murphy of Newton; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Reed Kessler. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
