MRS. J. S. EMERSON Died Here Sunday

Mrs. Dulcie Emerson, for 40 years a resident of Peru, died at the Peterson Nursing home in Winterset Sunday, March 30, at the age of 73 years

Mrs. Emerson was a life-long resident of Madison county. She was the former Dulcie Isobell Weeks, daughter of James and Mary Ann Weeks, and was born near Winterset, Jan. 1, 1874.

She was married to J. S. Emerson on Aug. 13, 1895. The first 10 years of their married life was spent on a farm in Scott township, after which they moved to Peru. Mr. Emerson died 11 years ago.

She is survived by a son, Gale Emerson of Winterset; three step-children, Ralph Emerson of Newton, Earl Emerson of Winterset and Mrs. Grover Mease of Peru; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Mary Jickling of Winterset, Mrs. George Wimmer of Bozeman, Mont., Mrs. Ollie Bolton of Ainsworth, Nebr., and Mrs. Zoa Rippey of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held here Tuesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. J. D Stevens, pastor of the Peru Methodist church. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
