Marion F. Andrews of this community, died at his home here Saturday, March 29, 1947, after an extended illness. He was 72 years of age.

Mr. Andrews was born in Polk county, May l, 1874, the son of Nathan and Letitia Andrews. His early life was spent in and around Des Moines, where he was married in 1895 to Mary Bryan.

They were the parents of four children, two of whom died in infancy. The wife and mother died in 1906.

In 1911, he was married a second time, to Rosa Davis of Truro. Until six months ago, they had lived on a farm south of Truro.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Lula Crain of Humboldt and Mrs. Mildred Osborne of Des Moines; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Sims and Mrs. O. B. Thorp, both of Des Moines.

Obituary

Marion F. Andrews

Marion Francis, son of Nathan and Letitia Andrews, was born in Polk county, Iowa, May 31, 1874, and quietly passed away at his home in Truro, Iowa, March 29, 1947, after an extended illness. He was 72 years, 9 months and 29 days of age.

His early life was spent in and around Des Moines where he was united in marriage to Mary Byram in 1895. To this union was born four children. His wife departed this live in 1906; also two sons passed away in infancy.

In 1911 he was again united in marriage to Rosa Davis of Truro, Iowa, and until the last six months spent his life on a farm south of Truro.

While not a member of any church, in later years he confessed and accepted the Christian faith.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa, who cared for him so faithfully in his last illness. Two daughters, Mrs. J. T. Crain of Humboldt, Iowa, and Mrs. H. L. Osborne of Des Moines; two grandchildren, Mrs. A. D. Fenold of Gilmore City, Iowa and Paul Young of Madison, Wisconsin. Another grandson, his namesake, Marion Young, was killed in action in December 1944 in the Philippines. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. O. B. Thorp and Mrs. Mattie Sims, both of Des Moines, besides a host of relatives and friends.

Prairie Grove

Several from this community attended the funeral of Marion Andrews Tuesday at the Kale funeral home in Truro. Interment was at the Hartman cemetery. This community extends heartfelt sympathy to the family.
