Rose Eva Clark, daughter of Rufus and Susan Clark, was born March 30, 1874, in Madison county, Iowa, and passed away at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines, on March 30, 1930, at the age of 56 years. She attended the public school in Winterset and grew to womanhood in this community. On October 30, 1901, she was united in marriage to A. R. Donaldson. They lived in Valley Junction for several years and then moved to Rock Island, Illinois. They made their home in Winterset for the past several years. Mr. Donaldson died on March 11, 1927.
Mrs. Rose Donaldson united with the Church of Christ in early childhood. She had been a faithful member. During the last few years she was in such poor health that she was unable to attend church services.
She leaves to mourn her loss two brothers and two sisters, Frank and Alvin Clark, Mrs. Lulu Rippey and Mrs. Bessie McCauley, all of Winterset, and nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Mrs. Rose Donaldson died at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines, Sunday afternoon, March 30th, at the age of 54 years. Mrs. Donaldson had been in poor health for several years and was taken to the Mercy hospital for treatment for gangrene two weeks ago. Her condition continued to grow worse, and she died Sunday evening.
Mrs. Donaldson was a member of a pioneer Madison county family, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Clark. She was born March 30, 1874, in Winterset, and was raised in this town. She attended the local schools, and on October 30, 1901, she was married to A. R. Donaldson. They lived in Valley Junction for several years and then moved to Rock Island, Illinois. They had made their home in Winterset the past several years, however, Mr. Donaldson died on March 11, 1927, and she had rooms for several years, in the Henry Wilkinson home, on West South street. More recently she had been living on West Filmore.
She is survived by her two brothers, Frank and Alvin Clark, and two sisters, Mrs. Lulu Rippey and Mrs. Bessie McCauley, all of Winterset. The Rev. H. L. Olmstead, pastor of the Church of Christ, conducted the funeral services at the Tidrick funeral home, Tuesday afternoon, April 1st, at 2:30 o’clock, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
