E. L ETCHISON OF ST. CHARLES DIES

(St. Charles Special)

Elbridge Lawrence Etchison, son of James N. and Elizabeth Hoisington Etchison, was born in Madison county, Iowa, on February 15, 1881 and passed away March 1, 1959 at the Memorial hospital in Winterset, Iowa at the age of 78 years and 14 days.

On February 28, 1925, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Maude Hill in Las Animas, Colorado.

Mr. Etchison was in the Railway Mail service in Wyoming for a number of years, later moving to Las Animas, Colorado where he was in the real estate and insurance business for 17 years. In 1941 he moved to a farm in Harrison county, Missouri and lived there until his health failed. He then moved to St. Charles, Iowa in 1952 where he lived his remaining years.

He united with the Baptist church in Las Animas, Colorado in 1924, later moving his membership to Mount Moriah, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife; and two daughters by a former marriage, Mrs. Erma Hamm and Mrs. Lena Tompkins, both of California; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. B. W. Stout; five nephews and one niece.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, March 3 at the Christian church in St. Charles, conducted by the Rev. Marlin Love. Interment was in the St. Charles cemetery.
