Funeral Rites Held Monday For Life-Long Resident of County
Ray V. Yates, a life-time resident of Madison county died at his home in Madison township last Thursday, April 2. He was 60 years of age.
Mr. Yates was born in Madison county March 6, 1899, a son of Henry and Lillian Bord Yates. His life was spent in farming.
He was married at Winterset on Nov. 24, 1938, to Leah Bernice Stewart, who survives him. He also leaves a brother, Nestor Yates of Winterset, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. John Porath, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
