MRS. ALICE BENOIT DIED ON TUESDAY

Was Patient at Memorial Hospital for More Than Year

Mrs. Alice Benoit, a resident of Winterset for 28 years, died at Memorial hospital here Tuesday, Feb. 17. She was 80 years of age, and had been a patient at the hospital for more than a year.

Mrs. Benoit was the former Alice Loehr, and was a native of Moorland, Ia., where she was born Dec. 10, 1878. As a young woman she was married to John Benoit. They were the parents of six children, two dying in infancy. A son, Clyde Benoit of Michigan, died last year. John Benoit died about a year after they moved to Winterset.

Surviving are two sons, Leo and Adolph Benoit of Winterset; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Bay of Dixon, Ill.; a brother, Charlie Loehr of Moorland; a sister, Mrs. Josie McCarville of Humboldt; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Rosary services for Mrs. Benoit will be held this Thursday at 8:15 from the Richards Funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. William Higgins. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
