Served For Many Years As Peru Correspondent for Madisonian
Funeral services for Esther Griffith, long-time resident of the Peru community, were held Monday afternoon from Richards Funeral Home in Winterset.
She died Saturday, August 1, at the home of her son, Robert Ray, in Winterset, following a two year illness. She was 66 years of age.
Esther served for many years as the Madisonian correspondent for the Peru area, and prior to that was employed by the Winterset News paper.
Surviving are her son, and four grandsons, Michael, Douglas, Mark and Daniel Ray.
Officiating at the services Monday were the Rev. Ray Harness, former pastor of the Peru Methodist church now living at Chariton. Burial was in the Peru cemetery.
