MRS. W. S. ALLCOX

Mrs. W. S. Allcox died at her home west of Hanley last Tuesday night. She had a stroke of paralysis about two weeks ago, and another one last Saturday, from which she did not recover.

Funeral services were held at Elm Grove Church Thursday and the remains were laid to rest in the Sayre cemetery.

Hanley

Mrs. W. S. Allcock, who was stricken with a paralytic stroke, succeeded by another, died on last Monday night, and was buried in the Sayre cemetery on Thursday. All the children, ten in all, were present.

Melvira Sayre was born in Barber county, West Virginia, Dec. 16, 1847 and departed this life for a better world Feb. 11, 1913, at the age of 65 years, 1 month and 26 days.

She moved to Iowa with her parents at the age of seven years. She was converted and joined the M.E. church when quite young. She was married to W. S. Allcock Oct. 23, 1870. She was the mother of eleven children, all being present when she departed, except one who died in infancy.

Deceased was a devoted Christian, a faithful companion and loving mother. She, being afflicted for years, was unable to attend church much. But she was always patient, trusting in her blessed Saviour.

Funeral services were held at the Elm Grove church Thursday, Feb. 13, conducted by Rev. Corkill, of New Virginia and the remains laid to rest in the Sayre cemetery.
