MRS. JOE HESS DIES AT 64 YEARS

Funeral Services Held Jan. 7 From St. Patrick's Church

Mrs. Joe Hess, a resident of Lee township the last seven years, died at her home near Booneville on Sunday, Jan. 4. She was 64 years of age.

Mrs. Hess was the former Gladys Nicholson, daughter of Valdi and Anna Nicholson, and was born near Medora, in Warren county, on June 3, 1894. She was married to Joe Hess Oct. 10, 1917. They made their home near Norwalk for many years, moving to Lee township seven years ago.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Fred Hess of Des Moines and Bernard Hess of Booneville; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Jan. 7 from St. Patrick's Catholic church in Lee township, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Father Curtain. Burial was made in St. Patrick's cemetery.
