Douglas Township Resident for Most of Her 85 Years
Mrs. Ella Klingman, a well known Douglas township resident for most of her life, died Saturday, July 5 at the Hildreth Nursing home in Norwalk. She was 85 years of age and had lived in Madison county all her life. She had been a patient at the Memorial hospital in Winterset recently, and was transferred to the nursing home in Norwalk about two weeks prior to her death.
Mrs. Klingman was the former Ella Evans. She was born in Douglas township Sept. 18, 1866. Her marriage to Frank Klingman was an event of Jan. 1, 1891. They spent their active years in Douglas township and observed their golden Wedding day there in 1941. Mr. Klingman died in 1943.
Mrs. Klingman was a member of the Worthington Methodist church and was affiliated with the Rebekah lodge.
Her daughter, Mrs. Marie Peterson, preceded her in death. Surviving are her son, John E. Klingman of Winterset; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this Monday from the Richards Funeral home here, in charge of the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
