MRS. GREER MAHAN DIES AT 80 YEARS

Long-Time Resident Passes Suddenly Here Last Saturday

Mrs. Greer Mahan of Winterset, a life-long resident of Madison and Polk counties, died suddenly last Saturday in Winterset. She was 80 years of age.

Mrs. Mahan was the former Dorcas Mae Potter, and was born in this county on Sept. 2, 1866. She was married to Greer Mahan on March 11, 1886. They were the parents of four children, one son, Earl, preceding the mother in death. Mr. Mahan died about 18 months ago.

She was a member of the Winterset Methodist church.

She is survived by the three children, Frank Mahan of Winterset, Lester Mahan of St. Charles, and Mrs. Fern Anderson of Woodward; a brother, Ullssus Potter of Orange, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Sadie Howell of Winterset; five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Anderson home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. L. F. Davis, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
