MORTUARY

Glenn Wm. Quick

Glenn Wm., the son of Wm. and Mabel Lyon Quick, was born in Scott township, Madison county, Iowa, May 15, 1905. His boyhood was spent in Madison county, and he was married in Adel, April 4, 1926, and to this union one child, Shirley Jean, now three years old, was born.

He began working in Des Moines three years ago and continued in the automobile work until he was injured. This accident came from Glenn thinking of others rather than himself, in avoiding a little child who ran in front of him, he received the injury that resulted in his death. Since his injury he had been at home, when not in a hospital. He accepted Christ in the Elm Grove church when he was 15 years old, and died trusting in his Savior.

Glenn was a genial friendly boy, ever making friends and holding their love to the end. He passed away after months of suffering, in a hospital in Des Moines, July 21, 1930, at the age of 25 years.

He leaves beside his child, his father and mother, one sister, Mrs. Della Howell, of Patterson, his grandfather and grandmother, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lyon, of Des Moines, and many other relatives and many friends.

Rev. James Owen Smith, formerly pastor at Peru and Elm Grove, now at the Fort Des Moines M. E. church, conducted the funeral services at the Quick home, Wednesday morning, July 23, and the burial was in the Union Chapel cemetery.
