Page 1Death of Fayette Taylor
Fayette Taylor, who had been a resident of Madison county since he was a young child, died at his home, near Patterson, on Thursday, May 1st, at the age of 78 years. Mr. Taylor had been in poor health for some time.
Wayne county, Indiana, was the birthplace of Mr. Taylor, and he came here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. S. Taylor, when a small child. They located on the farm that had since been his home. His marriage with Miss Sarah Catherine Runkle, took place in 1874, and they were the parents of five children. Mrs. Taylor died in 1908 and in 1910 he was married to Nancy Landers. She died in 1925.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his children: Perry of Bakersfield, California; John, of Winterset; Clint, of Colfax; Carl, of Peoria, Illinois, and Nettie L. Shultz, of Osage, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Rev. H. L. Olmstead, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ, conducted the funeral services held at Union Chapel, Saturday, May 3, and burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery. More details of his life may be found in the mortuary column.

Fayette, son of I. S. and Hannah Taylor, was born in Wayne county, Indiana, November 14, 1852, and passed away at his home near Patterson, Iowa, May 1, 1930, aged 78 years, 5 months and 16 days.
He moved to Iowa, with his parents, when a young child, and settled on the farm which was his home at the time of his death.
On January 1, 1874, he was united in marriage to Sarah Catherine Runkle. She departed this life in 1908. To this union were born five children: Perry of Bakersfield, California; John, of Winterset; Clint, of Colfax; Carl, of Peoria, Illinois, and Nettie L. Shultz, of Osage, Saskatchewan, Canada.
On September 10, 1910, he was united in marriage to Nancy Landers. She departed this life in 1925. (Unreadable) and loving father.
Funeral services were held in the Union Chapel church, conducted by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ, Saturday, May 3, at 2 o’clock, and burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery.
