Earlham, IowaElsie May Cook, daughter of Levi and Abbie Barnett Cook, was born September 4, 1892, in Dallas county and passed away October 23, 1972 in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 19 days.
She grew up in the Bear Creek neighborhood and attended school there as well as in Marshall county. She taught in the rural schools of Dallas and Guthrie counties.
On October 18, 1917 she was united in marriage to Doskey Ellis Crabbs of Guthrie Center, Iowa. Their union was blessed with the birth of six children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her youngest brother, Howard; her oldest sister, Belva; and one infant daughter Doris.
Left to mourn her loss are her husband Doskey; four sons: Harold of El Monte, California, Loyd and Donald of Des Moines, and Verne, of Dexter; one daughter, Thelma Hall of Earlham; two brothers, Archie Cook of Dexter and Harold Cook of Earlham; one sister, Nora Noland of Earlham; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
