MABEL ANDERSON DIED LAST FRIDAY

Winterset Business Woman Passes at Age of 42 Years

Mabel C. Anderson, a resident of Winterset nearly all of her life, died at the Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines, Friday, Jan. 10 after a lingering illness. She was 42 years of age.

Miss Anderson was born at Orilla, in Warren county, on April 11, 1904, the daughter of Axel O. and Annie D. Groth Anderson. Her father died in 1908, and immediately following that she came to Winterset with her family.

She attended the local schools and graduated from the Winterset high school with the class of 1921. She had been a member of the Methodist church here since childhood, and always took an active part in church affairs. She was also active in the American Legion auxilliary for many years.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herman. She is survived by her mother, and one brother, Harry F. Anderson both of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Winterset Methodist church, in charge of the Revs. Walter A. Samp of Chariton and G. L. Hufstader of Winterset. Burial was made at Orilla.
