S. P. CRAWFORD DIED SATURDAY

Life-Long resident of Jackson Township was 72 Years of Age

Solomon P. Crawford, a life-long resident of Madison county, died at the Memorial hospital in Winterset Saturday, Aug. 9. He had suffered a stroke the preceding day. He was 72 years of age.

Mr. Crawford was born in Jackson township, April 20, 1880, a son of Joseph and Rebecca Phillips Crawford. His entire life was spent in Jackson township. As a young man he had united with the Webster Methodist church.

He was married June 4, 1914, to Grace Dunn, who survives him. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Estel and Addie Crawford, both of Winterset; and a cousin, Mrs. Sarah McCleary of Davenport, who was reared in the home of his parents.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Anderson home for funerals, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church, and the Rev. Donald Cutler. Burial was made in the Penn Center cemetery.
