LAWRENCE A. COUNTRYMAN

Lawrence Albert Countryman was born at Wiscotta, Iowa, November 10, 1906 to Delbert and Lydia Countryman. He passed away October 23, 1952 at Iowa City, Iowa, after a long illness.

He received his grade school education at Panther Creek and later attended the Redfield high school from which he was graduated in the year of 1926.

He was united in marriage to Josephine Smith of Des Moines on January 14, 1932 at Des Moines. To this union three daughters were born. Lawrence was always a loving and devoted husband and father, and a friend of everyone.

He spent all of his life in and near Redfield and Earlham with the exception of one year in northern Minnesota.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Josephine, three daughters, Edna June, Verna Jean and Ruth, his mother, Mrs. Dell Countryman of Earlham, two sisters, Mrs. Walter Webb of Earlham; Mrs. Reuben Webb of Adel and three brothers, Joe Countryman of Earlham; Henry and Roy Countryman both of Des Moines, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

L. A. COUNTRYMAN OF EARLHAM DIES

Death at Age of 45 Years Followed Extended Illness

Lawrence A. Countryman, a life-long resident of Madison and Dallas counties died Thursday, Oct. 23, at the University hospital in Iowa City after an extended illness. He was 45 years of age.

Mr. Countryman was born Nov. 10, 1906 near Redfield, a son of Delbert and Lydia Countryman. He was married in Des Moines in 1932, to Josephine Smith. They have been making their home at Earlham.

Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Edna June, Verna Jean and Ruth Countryman, his mother, Mrs. Lydia Countryman; two sisters, Mrs. Reuben Webb of Adel and Mrs. Walter Webb of Earlham and three brothers, Joe Countryman of Earlham and Henry and Roy Countryman of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Earlham Methodist church conducted by the Rev. C. A. Crouse of Afton. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
