FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN DES MOINES

Harriet Gibbons Made Home at Afton for Last 14 Years

Harriet Ann Gibbons, former resident of this county, who had made her home in recent years with her sister, Isabel Rickets of Afton, died at the Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines last Thursday. She was 84 years of age.

Miss Gibbons was the daughter of James and Isabel Gibbons, who were pioneer settlers in Walnut township of this county, having moved there at the close of the Civil war. Miss Gibbons was born near the town of Rockville, in Park county, Indiana, on April 21, 1862.

Near surviving relatives are her brother, Ira Gibbons of Lorimor, and her sister, Isabel Rickets of Afton, with whom she had lived the last 14 years.

Funeral services were held at the Barney church Sunday.
