FUNERAL HELD FOR MRS. DUFF LAST FRIDAY

Funeral services were held Friday, October 19, at 2:00 at the Presbyterian church for Mrs. Montana Duff, mother of Mrs. John Hoadley.

Mrs. Duff died at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines, October 16. She was 81 years old.

Rev. S. R. Overholser conducted the services. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.

Those from a distance attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Bennett and daughter, Grand View, Washington; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hutchison, Lytton; Mrs. Ethel Hutchison, Jolly; Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Wruck and family, Rockwell City; and Mr. William Hutchison, Jolly.

Montana Duff, daughter of Joshua and Nancy Bennett, was born near Winterset in Madison County, Iowa, on July 17th, 1865, and passed away at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, on October 16th, 1946 at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 29 days.

On October 14th, 1885, she was married to Thomas Duff, and to this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Stella Hoadley of Earlham.

For a number of years Mrs. Duff has lived in Stuart, Iowa. During the past year she has been in failing health and has been at the home of her daughter much of the time, having been there several weeks prior to entering the hospital.

She leaves to mourn her loss the daughter, Mrs. Stella Hoadley, two sisters, Mrs. Etna Haxton of Guthrie Center and Mrs. Laura Bast of Stuart, two brothers, L. C. Bennett of Winterset and L. M. Bennett of Grandview, Washington, also a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
