Death of Lloyd Faux

Lloyd Faux, thirteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Faux, of Patterson, died at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines, Monday afternoon, October 20th, about three o’clock. The boy had been ill with appendicitis for several days and his condition became critical last week, and he was taken to the Mercy hospital on Sunday.

Funeral services for the youth will be held at the Methodist church in Patterson, this afternoon, (Thursday), at 2 o’clock.

The boy is survived by his parents, five brothers and two sisters, Arthur Faux, of Ogden; Elmer, of Rolfe; David and Elton, at home; George, of Crawford township; Mrs. George Cooper, of Crawford township, and Mrs. Melissa Booth, of California.

Mortuary – Floyd Faux

Floyd, son of Thomas and Fannie Faux, was born near Patterson, March 6, 1917. He had attended the Patterson consolidated schools, where he was this year in the 8th grade of Junior High.

He was extremely kind and loving in his nature, a great home boy who delighted in his pony and other pets and delighted in helping with the stock, a kind loving boy with every possibility for good.

He was taken suddenly ill on Monday evening, October 13th, after coming home from school and was taken to Mercy hospital the following Sunday, where he passed away on Monday, October 20th, at the age of 13 years, 7 months, and 14 days.

He leaves beside his father and mother, six brothers, Elmer, of Rolfe; Arthur, of Ogden; Byrom, of Barney; George, of Patterson, and David and Elton at home, and two sisters, Melissa Booth of California and Mrs. Mabel Cooper, of Patterson.
