HARVEY BEAMAN DIES AT STUART

Heart Attack Fatal at Age of 62 to Former Local Resident

Harvey Beaman, a former resident of near Winterset, died of a heart attack Tuesday, May 3, while visiting at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Tommy Nestleroad. He was 62 years of age.

Mr. Beaman lived most of his life in the Dexter and Stuart communities, although he also farmed for some time near Winterset and near Booneville. In recent years he had lived near Stuart.

He was born March 25, 1893, near Dexter, a son of William and Sarah E. Beaman. On Feb. 14, 1915, he was married to Ida White of Stuart.

Surviving are his wife; five children, Mrs. Leota Nestleroad of Stuart, Mrs. Faye Roach of Moline, Ill., Mrs. Isabelle Edwardson of Des Moines, Harvey Beaman, Jr., of Dexter, and Donald Beaman of Booneville. He also leaves 15 grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Ellis Estell, Mrs. John Beedle and Mrs. Percy Estell, all of Winterset and Mrs. Cash Crawford of Dexter; and two brothers, Oral and Frank Beaman of Earlham.

Funeral services were held May 6 from the Fairview church near Stuart, with burial in the church cemetery there.

Walter Harvey Beaman was born March 25, 1893, at Dexter. He passed away May 3, 1955 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Nesselroad, at the age of 62 years, one month and nine days.

His boyhood years were spent on a farm nine miles south of Dexter and he lived most of his life in Adair county.

On February 10, 1914 he was united in marriage to Ida M. White of Stuart. To this union five children were born, three daughters: Leota, Mrs. Nesselroad of Stuart; Faye, Mrs. Harding Roach of Moline, Ill. and Isabel, Mrs. W. H. Edmondsen of Des Moines, and two sons, Harvey, jr. of Dexter and Donald of Booneville.

As long as his health permitted, Mr. Beaman was an active member of the Fairview church and served as a deacon there. He was a kind and loving husband and father, devoted to wife and family. He took great joy in his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ellen Beaman; one sister, Mary Wambold, and one brother, Elzie Beaman.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Ida, his two sons and three daughters, 15 grandchildren, two brothers, Oral and Frank of Earlham; four sisters, Mrs. Ellis Estell, Mrs. John Beadle and Mrs. Percy Estell, all of Winterset, and Mrs. Cash Crawford of Dexter and several nieces and nephews. He is lovingly remembered by many neighbors and friends.

Services were conducted from the Fairveiw church at 2 p.m., May 6, under the direction of Rev. Gordon Blunt. Music was presented by Robin Lawson, soloist, Mrs. Andy Green, Mrs. Clyde Lawson, Mrs. Roy Kalbach and Mrs. Worth Turner were in charge of flowers. Casketbearers were Cecil Parkison, John Bryon, Keith Wambold, Wayne Estell, Clarence Beaman and Harold Beaman. Interment was in the Fairview cemetery.
