Winterset, IowaDEATH OF FLOYD WHITED
Floyd Whited, a former resident of Earlham, committed suicide at his home in Newton, Monday, September 2. Death came after Mr. Whited, who was 25 years of age, had drunk a quantity of carbolic acid. Besides the widow, he leaves two children and his mother, Mrs. Alta Whited, of Earlham. The young man had been employed in the Maytag Washing Machine factory. Despondency is believed to be the reason for his act, he having become more morose since the destruction of his mother's barn, by fire, several weeks ago. Funeral services were held at Dexter Wednesday afternoon, and burial was made at Menlo.
