A. B. McCULLEY DROWNS

Well Known Printer of this Place Loses Life in Launch Near Burlington

The body of A. B. McCulley was found in Flint Creek near Burlington, on Monday, Aug 23d. It seems that three persons of a launch party had been drowned on Saturday near Burlington, and a searching party in quest of these bodies found, while dragging the river, the body of Mr. McCulley.

From the most reliable in formation we could obtain, he had been engaged in printing in Dalles, Ill., and had recently written to his mother, Mrs. B. A. McCulley of Winterset, that he intended going to Burlington, soon to purchase, or make arrangements to buy, a press, that he might engage in business for himself, and his visit to Burlington was for that purpose.

In response to a telegram, a brother, D. C. McCulley of Columbus Junction, went to Burlington on Monday and returned to his home in company with the body. On Tuesday, Misses Cora and Eva McCulley, accompanied by their nephew, Everett Arrowhood, left here for Columbus Junction. From this place the family took the body to Wapello where the funeral services were held, and interment made in the family burial lot.

Deceased was almost 38 years of age, and grew to manhood on a farm near Morning Sun. During the last ten years, he lived here at the home of his mother; and being a printer by trade, had been employed in the News, Reporter and Madisonian offices. In 1908, he married Miss Luella Weede of Winterset, who with and infant child, survives him, besides his mother, two sisters and one brother.
