Mrs. Eva Stark, a well known Winterset woman, died at her home here last Saturday night. She was 73 years of age.

Mrs. Stark had lived in Madison county since she was 9 years old. She was the former Eva Leona Gorrell, and was born Jan. 1, 1866, at Danville, Ind. When she was 5 years old she moved with her parents to O'Brien county in this state, and four years later they came to Madison county.

She was married to Alanson Wells Chase on March 16, 1882. They were the parents of 12 children, three of whom died in infancy. Mr. Chase died in 1919. She was married again in 1930 to Walter Stark. He succumbed in 1931.

Mrs. Stark was a member of long standing in the Church of Christ, and was also affiliated for many years with the Women's Relief corps.

She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Ella Kennedy, Mrs. Wayne McKirgan, Mrs. Mary Meyers, Mrs. Ida Cutshall, Mrs. Grace Shaw, and Mrs. Pearl Shaw; three sons, Earl, Walter, and Harold Chase; 16 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Winterset Church of Christ, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Tom Foglesong. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
